Gavi Gavi Gavi di Gavi DOCG

The Cortese grape is a native vine of very ancient origins, widely cultivated in the area of ​​Alessandria. It gives life to lean and fresh wines, vital, ready to drink and immediate pleasure. In the Municipality of Gavi, from which the wine takes its name, this production is protected by the DOCG, to guarantee the high quality of this product.

Density of plant: 4,500 vines per hectare

Yield of the Grapes: about 75 quintals per hectare

Vinification: The de-stemmed grapes are subjected to soft pressing. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel containers kept at a controlled temperature. After fermentation, the wine rests on the lees for at least 4 months before being bottled.

The Wine: The color is straw yellow of medium intensity. It has clear and floral aromas in which the melon and a slight citrus note stand out. On the palate it is slender, very fresh and tasty, it doses well the typical acidity of the vine with a "gentle" profile, ready to drink.

Pairings: Excellent as an aperitif, or served in combination with savory canapés and appetizers in general. Also ideal to accompany delicate fish-based first courses, or with the typical "tajarin with truffle", a pasta dish seasoned with truffles, butter and parmesan.
