TORRE ROSAZZA
Pinot Bianco
Wine Friuli Colli Orientali DOC
An international grape variety, very common in Burgundy, it found an ideal habitat in Friuli to best express its potential. Often unfairly overlooked by fashion, it represents one of the most elegant wines that this territory can express.
Grapes: 100% Pinot Bianco
Origin: Oleis di Manzano, own vineyards
Type of soil: Eocene Marne
Altitude: 120 - 170 m s.l.m.
Training method: Guyot
Density of plant: 4,500 vines per hectare
Grape yield: about 70 quintals per hectare
Vinification: The grapes are first de-stemmed, then they are gently pressed. Alcoholic fermentation - which takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature - is followed by a partial malolactic fermentation. Subsequently the wine remains on the lees for about six months in steel containers, then it is bottled and rests in glass for at least the next three months.
The Wine: Straw yellow color, with light greenish nuances. The nose immediately shows great elegance, where it combines fruity scents with a mineral note that reveals hints of bread crust and hazelnuts. On the palate elegance takes substance in a balanced combination of structure, finesse and a pleasant acidity.
Pairings: Great versatility on the table, it is excellent in combination with white meats and tasty fish such as tuna. It also goes well with fish-based first courses and tasty legume soups. Finally, it is also perfect when seasoned with cured meats.
