TORRE ROSAZZA
Pinot Grigio
Wine Friuli Colli Orientali DOC
The most famous Italian wine in the world, Pinot Grigio, has been cultivated in Friuli for centuries with results of great expressive intensity in the hills, where wine acquires intense aromas and a good concentration.
Grapes: 100% Pinot Grigio
Origin: Oleis di Manzano, own vineyards
Type of soil: Eocene Marne
Altitude: 120 - 170 m s.l.m.
Training method: Guyot
Density of plant: 4,500 vines per hectare
Grape yield: about 70 quintals per hectare
Vinification: the whole grapes are placed in the presses, where they are softly pressed. The vinification takes place in white, immediately separating the skins from the musts, in controlled temperature steel vats. Afterwards the wine remains on the lees for about six months in steel containers, to then be bottled and rest in the bottle for the next two months.
The Wine: Straw yellow, with golden reflections, it begins at the nose with pronounced floral scents that turn towards the fruity, recalling hints of apple and ripe pear. On the palate it is soft and enveloping and expertly doses a good body with a pleasantly acidic vein, which gives freshness to the drink. Balanced in every component, it has a good persistence.
Pairings: Great versatility on the table, it is excellent in combination with white meats and tasty fish such as tuna. It also goes well with fish-based first courses and tasty legume soups. Finally, it is also perfect when seasoned with cured meats.
