Red Wine of Montepulciano DOC Podere Il Macchione
GRAPE VARIETY: selection of Sangiovese (80%) and Merlot (20%) grapes.
VINIFICATION: Carbonic pre-maceration at 10 ° C for 3 days, inoculation of selected yeasts and fermentation in cement tanks of 48 Hl. Maceration of the skins on musts for 25 days.
WOOD MATURATION: 10 months in second and third passage barriques.
TASTING EXAMINATION: Bright red color with slightly garnet reflections. Intense, persistent and fine nose of black fruits but above all ripe plum. Over time you will hear a sweet spiciness reminiscent of tobacco and cinnamon. The entry into the mouth is soft and becomes increasingly round, great progression of notes of black fruit, fragrant and supported by a pleasant acidity. The impressive freshness of the present fruit is very interesting.

PAIRING: excellent companion for dishes based on Chianina meat, semi-aged and seasoned cheeses with pear jam and green tomatoes
