Cuvée "Ars Lyrica" - DOC Alto Adige Bianco

A light yet profound poem

The choice of name for this wine is no coincidence: “Ars Lyrica” is a delightful poem for both nose and palate. It is a cuvée or blend of equal parts of different white wine varieties:Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco. The grapes themselves are from three different locations: the Preyhof at around 550 metres above sea level, Leisenpuiten estate at 500 metres above sea level, Seehof at 230 metres above sea level. The interaction of these different varieties, the reduced yield of just one kilo per vine and the ten-month long gentle aging process in stainless steel vats, and partly in French 500-litre tonneaux, all result in a wine of unique characteristics.

Tasting notes:

Light yellow with greenish hues.

Aromas of apple, peach and delicate oak notes.

On the palate fresh, intense with a well-integrated acidity. LongFinish.

Cellaring recommendations: Up to 7 years

Wine and food pairing: Ideal with seafood, fish and pasta dishes and hors d'oeuvres.

Grape variety: Cuvée of Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco

Terroir:

Caldaro- Leisenpuiten: 500 m above sea level, Sandy loam with excellent water retention.

Caldaro - Preyhof: 550 m above sea level, Sandy limestone soil with porphyry gravel and Gardena sandstone.

Caldaro - Seehof: 230 m above sea level, Medium-textured, sandy loam. Its immediate vicinity to Lake Kaltern ensures an optimal microclimate.

Training system: Guyot

Yield per vine: 1.0 kg - 50 hl/ha

Production process: Low-temperature must clarification and subsequent controlled cool fermentation at 15-18°C. Fermented in stainless steel tanks and in tonneau; only a small portion with skin contact.

Aging: on the fine lees for 10 months in stainless steel tanks (50%) and in French tonneaux casks of 500 litres (50%)
